TRENDS AW 18-19

ALGEBRAIC AMOUNT COMPOSED BY TWO UNIQUE TERMS. UNITED BETWEEN BY THE MOST (+) OR LESS (-) SIGNS.

A season immersed in a time in which maintaining our senses awake and sharpening our sense of humor to find positive responses and not remaining scared of the nonsense, breakdowns and the loss of references, in front of which we assist powerless, will be necessary.

A season immersed in a time of searching and questioning in which our own sources and sensibility, together with our ability to reinvent ourselves, will establish the difference.

A season in which every approach will need to draw forces out of its opposite energy to exist.

Because of that, if the following statements seem to be antinomies, we’ll consider them as binomials under the (+) sign. Like siamese twins, they nurture each other.

United, they only exist together.

Our binomials will be illustrated through four stories:

FIGHT / LOVE

CREATE / PERPETUATE

MATCH=MISMATCH

MAKE A RACKET/ KEEP QUIET

Each binomial has its own and specific color range, which tones come from the general range of that season.

FIGHT / LOVE

Embraced for kissing; sticked to each other in a battle for peace, both of the elements of this binomial, dressed with effulgent armors, covered in flowers, they aspire to be completely free. Recruited in an army made of operetta soldiers, they want to make love, instead of building walls and they resist the reigning sinister and given-words syndrome.

Warlike colors, or soft, vivid or muted: red, pinkish brass, green of scuba diving grey, crushed mallow, liquid blue.

Subjects are softened or exposed.

Cloudy surfaces.

Subtile glazed, crystallizations.

Shiny velvets, irregular, muffled motives. Round and soft pastel leather, iridescent leather.

Irregular, sweeping, discreet metallization planted with gold or silver on matte surfaces. Metalized dented. Broken, cracked mirror.

CREATE / PERPETUATE

Using the point of madness that slumbers at the bottom of any creative brain to revolutionize cultural heritage and transforming it into an object of desire. Allowing an absurd re-reading of our works of art, our design objects, our eternal grains of leather.

Happily shaking the past, present and future to mix them. Transforming the visit to the museum into a crazy expedition and resort to unreason.

Dark and shimmering colors adhere to the cool colors of the dense stones sanded from the compact granites.

The leathers are inspired by materials or claim their legitimacy

Cold taps, stony surfaces, terrazzo, granite, stone and pebble composites, marble and sawdust amalgams.

Outlined vintage. Waxed aspects, natural shines, rubbed, scraped surfaces. Discreet pull-up end. Paper tints on extremely matt or glossy surfaces.

Crumpled textures.
Tailoring drawings: gabardina, twill, diagonals.
Sober leather, obediently combed.

MATCH = MISMATCH

In the prevailing disorder, we are tempted by rigor.
We embark on a fantasy of planning to order with feverishness. We organize materials and objects by typology. Rebels, introduce incongruent elements.

The colors are falsely serious and ambivalent: blueish gray, or deep, bluish green. They are organized or separated, around a very dull brown and very soft yellow.

Touches don’t keep their promises

They look smooth but hide mysterious movements.

Aspects play with perspectives and create a random geometry.

Interrupted lines, inks that swell creating 3D effects.

Slotted grooved ridges, hollow motifs, punched holes.

Empty surfaces. Imperceptible grain.

Functional leathers, rubberized, rubbery aspects.

MAKE A RACKET/ KEEP QUIET

Between silence and chaos, there is no choice! Minimalism can be shattered, or seek refuge in an isolated hut to plunge into introspection, melancholy, and then loop "Heavy Metal" and "Iggy Pop." Between low and trash design, between good and bad taste, the intensity of our desires draws an irregular curve, suspended between calm and bustle.

Colors contrast or are harmonious, they are silent or talkative, deaf and thunderous.

The materials are comforting or unbridled.

Consoling densities, worked in depth and with consistency.

Cushioned, cottony, softly velvety, printed in hollow.

Slippers of wool and fluffy leather.

Stitches with wool and leather interlaced.

Elastic velvet lamb as second skin. Plaid, felt, frayed tweed.

Unbridled adornments. Animal motives on foals, aggressive and charlatans.

Black leather "Bad boy"  varnished, torn.

Tarry, irregular aspects.

Extroverted skins, disordered, badly combed, artificial colors.
